
The Muslim community in Berekum on Friday, 14th March, 2025 donated assorted items of undisclosed amount to Holy Family Catholic Hospital in Berekum.
The items, mainly toiletries and food items, included sugar, bottles of drinking water, soft drinks, biscuits, diapers, toilet rolls, tissues, washing powder, cleaning detergents among others.
This donation follows the community’s enquiry weeks ago during the hospital’s 2024 Annual Performance and Stakeholders meeting about some items the hospital lacks and needed to help care for it cherished patients.
Presenting the items, the Chief Imam in Berekum said the donation was done to show support from the Muslim community to the hospital as they have seen the tremendous works done by Rev. Sr. Reena since she became the administrator.

He added that they will continue to support the hospital in the coming years and expressed his profound gratitude to the management of the hospital and the entire staff for providing quality health care within Berekum.
Rev. Sr. Reena, the Administrator at the hospital together with other management members received the donation and she noted that this kind gesture shows how generous the Muslim community is to the hospital during this Ramadan period even though the hospital lacks community support.
She further encouraged other organizations to be motivated by the generosity of the Muslim community in Berekum to help the Hospital enhance service delivery to its cherished clients.
